The AVMA Political Action Committee (AVMA PAC)

2015 Student Fly-inThe AVMA is recognized as the collective voice for the entire veterinary profession, and our federal advocacy efforts are an important part of how we protect and promote veterinarians’ interests in the nation’s capital. The AVMA Political Action Committee (AVMA PAC) is an important advocacy tool that the Association uses to provide financial support to selected candidates who are seeking election to the U.S. Congress. The AVMA PAC helps to open doors for the AVMA Government Relations Division staff to speak with lawmakers about legislative issues impacting how veterinarians—like you—practice medicine.

The AVMA PAC raises funds to support candidates for national office from contributions from AVMA and SAVMA members, their families and AVMA employees.  The AVMA PAC Board abides by strict criteria when deciding which candidates to support, always looking for bipartisan leaders who will help further our priorities within AVMA’s legislative portfolio

All AVMA and SAVMA members are eligible to join the AVMA PAC.  The best way to get involved in the AVMA PAC is to make a personal, voluntary contribution. You can also attend upcoming events at an AVMA meeting/convention or at your local veterinary school. Also, you can reach out to the AVMA PAC Board about other ways to encourage your colleagues to contribute to the PAC.
