Veterinary Wellness and Well-being

Connect on LinkedIn with fellow AVMA and SAVMA members, as well as a select group of mental health professionals, to explore topics related to mental health and veterinary wellness. Share stories, links and information, and add your voice to strengthen our discussion of well-being in the veterinary profession.

Early Career Online Community

This Facebook group is exclusively for AVMA members who have graduated in the past five years.  We offer a place to connect with other recent graduates and receive support with issues faced during the transition from veterinary student to working veterinarian.

Diversity & Inclusion Community

Connect with colleagues in an ongoing, online conversation on diversity and inclusion issues, initiatives and ideas in our private LinkedIn group: Access and Opportunity in Veterinary Medicine (AVMA/SAVMA members only).

The AVMA's Animal Welfare Conversation

This private LinkedIn group facilitates better informed and more broadly shared conversations about animals’ welfare among members of the AVMA and SAVMA. Clinical practitioner? Industry employee? In the military? Work with companion animals, food animals, equids, laboratory animals, aquatics or something else? If you’re a veterinarian, or working to become one, there’s something here for you.

Donate Books, Journals and Other Supplies

If the shelves and cabinets, back rooms, and offices at your veterinary clinic are crammed with unused textbooks, journals, instruments, equipment, and supplies, consider donating them to veterinarians and students in foreign countries where they are needed.
